In 1193, Minamoto-Yoritomo had gone out hunting in the Nasu Plain. As his leaves, he was on a visit to Nitta-Yoshishige's castle. At this time, Yoshishige had introduced japanese archery, and then, the master archer's woven hat blew away in the wind. At Yoritomo's request, his arrow crditably hit the hat. Yoritomo impressed with this technique had named that "Kasakake" and diffused one of the practice of the samurai. Because of the historical fact, this ares was well said "Kasakake-no". In 1889, This town had been named "Kasakake" after the popular name and up to now.
