zamanga -(2002) This exhibition will show the development of Japanese MANGA (cartoons) from their roots in the Chojugiga (Animal Caricature Scrolls) that was produced between the mid-twelfth and mid-thirteenth century, to the present day, when it has become recognized throughout the world as an integrate part of Japanese culture. Simultaneously, it will demonstrate the influence and power MANGA has over Japanese society, appearing in every field from animations, games, character goods and even academic study. Above all, however, we hope that this exhibition will present the viewer with the opportunity to enjoy excellent examples of MANGA as pure entertainment.
