(Kanagawa) -(2001) In the north of the City of Kawasaki, which locates in-between Tokyo and Yokohama, there is a forest of approximately 96 acres called Manpukuji Forest. This forest shows beautiful aspects of four seasons throughout the year. Not only varieties of plants, but also various small creatures live there peacefully and quietly. Despite that this area is very close from Tokyo and Yokohama, there used to be rich nature and forests until late 1970's. In accordance with the population expansion in the region, most of these forests disappeared and only this Manpukuji Forest has remained there. Now, this last and precious forest is also going to be completely lost following perfunctory development assessment done by the City of Kawasaki. (Manpukuji, Kawasaki, environment, forest)
