(Tokyo) -(2001) The monthly Jokyo (Situation) began publishing in 1968, just before the peak of the 60s protest movements. Since our start, we have always changed with the times, continually striving to blow fresh air into the intellectual world. We were forced to stop publication in 1976, but we came back in 1990, just in time for the collapse of the Berlin Wall, the Cold War, and actually existing socialism. We believe that it is no longer sufficient merely to recognize the poverty of post-war thought. We attempt to move beyond a worn out 60s radicalism, cast a cold a eye on the failure of 80s =post-modernism, and develop a new radicalism for the coming century. (situation, Jokyo, Hiromatsu, Wataru, Publishing, Japan, post-modernism, thought)
